A Mother’s Love

Here is a cute little CAS card that I did as my DT Inspiration card over at the Crafter’s Cafe Challenge Blog.  The challenge this month is stitching faux or real.  This apron really just took me back to my grandmother’s kitchen.  The sentiment, Love With Strings Attached, just popped into my head.  When I think back to my childhood, I think of all the ladies at church preparing meals in the fellowship  hall and wearing aprons.   Most of them were handmade and it was really like a contest, but a very friendly one and a fancy ruffled apron could really bring out the Ooos and Awwwhs!  I guess since most women wear pants (jeans) or other casual clothing in the kitchen these days, no one is really concerned about spills and splatters.  Not a problem for me since I haven’t cooked in years!  My husband is an amateur chef so I am barely allowed in the kitchen.  Works for me!

About Chana Malkah

I am a "bubbie" (translation: grandmother), clinical supervisor(pediatrics) and an avid cardmaker. I enjoy making stationery sets and giving them to family and friends. This blog is for those who are just starting to explore cardmaking and other papercrafting. I have been away from cardmaking for about five years and was astounded by all the exciting changes in the craft. When I started stamping back in 1998, I only worked with wood mounted rubber stamps, metal stencils, markers and embossing powders and ink. Now there is a whole world out there and I hope we can explore together. In just eleven short months, I have gone from being afraid of posting my work...to being invited to join two design teams and waiting to hear from two more! Pursue your Passion!
