The challenge colors of Bright Orange and Bright Yellow are awesome together! Of course, the challenge required the use of neutral colors like white, beige, etc., but as I was gathering the elements for my mock up, I just could not take my eyes off that blue card stock. It is a SU color and I just love it! I got it in a grab bag and now plan to order more! I constantly encourage new card designers to participate in as many challenges as their schedule allows. Color Challenge take you out of your comfort zone and expose you to color schemes that may, at first, seem crazy. It took me almost a week to convince myself that I could actually do something with these two colors. And. as if that was not bad enough, it was aClean And Simple Challenge (the bane of my existence). But once I had the opportunity to look at the DT’s creations and those of some of the members, well, I became more aware of how often these combinations occur in nature. You might even find some of them in your home, maybe in your closet.
Back in December of 2010, my daughter encouraged me to join an online community and start submitting my cards. I joined Outlawz. Today, I submitted my first card as a Guest Designer. I still don’t believe it! I’m still terrified, and I couldn’t be happier!
So I keep encouraging new designers to get out there and start entering challenges, take classes, watch Youtube videos…whatever it takes to continue to expand your skills.
When my design for the first challenge is published to our members, I will post my card and a copy of the Outlawz Sketch here!!
