I enjoyed making this card!  I wanted to play around with Black, Sage, Rust/gold, and Ivory and this Sketch Challenge provided the ideal opportunity.

Ebony And Ivory

I had already decided on my plain card stock colors and how the layers would be stacked, when I opened a new mat pack (a gift from  Susana’s Custom Art and Card Designder Resources) and found this really cool dp.  I ran into two small problems: (1)  I forgot that it is not an easy task to stamp on linen paper; and (2) I did not have a Sage Flower.  I do like the rust, but I still think a sage flower would have taken the design to the next level.   I went through my stash of goodies from Susana’s Custom Art and Card Design and was fortunate enough to find a wonderful green leaf with rust edges…Perfect.   If you have not purchased anything from SCACD,  you are in for a treat.  With each order, she encloses a little (or not so little,  depending on the size of your order) surprise package.

About Chana Malkah

I am a "bubbie" (translation: grandmother), clinical supervisor(pediatrics) and an avid cardmaker. I enjoy making stationery sets and giving them to family and friends. This blog is for those who are just starting to explore cardmaking and other papercrafting. I have been away from cardmaking for about five years and was astounded by all the exciting changes in the craft. When I started stamping back in 1998, I only worked with wood mounted rubber stamps, metal stencils, markers and embossing powders and ink. Now there is a whole world out there and I hope we can explore together. In just eleven short months, I have gone from being afraid of posting my work...to being invited to join two design teams and waiting to hear from two more! Pursue your Passion!
